virtualmuseum.ca, the Surrey Art Gallery and the Surrey Public Art Program are proud to announce the recent launch of ArtWalk – a walking tour mobile app, featuring the Gallery’s Outdoor Public Spaces Exhibit in Surrey, BC, near Vancouver. The project is part of a research initiative designed to advance knowledge and appreciation of contemporary and public art through mobile technologies.
ArtWalk is available as a mobile Web app (aka a mobile website), which can be viewed at media.surrey.ca/Artwalk/. Native apps from both the iTunes App Store and Android Market are also available. ArtWalk can also be experienced through your laptop or PC using HTML5-friendly browsers such as Google Chrome or Safari.
The GPS-enabled app provides information including a description of the piece, photographs, an artist bio page, and videos of the artists. Other features include a Favouriting system, a Check-in feature, and sharing options.

seems like a very handy app to be honest, definately beats the old ways of people walking around with a walkman. thanks for this mini post.
