The National Gallery of Canada (NGC)’s must-see exhibit Van Gogh: Up Close is in full swing, and guaranteed to keep residents and visitors of the National Capital Region coming through its doors all summer long. The exhibit – organized by the NGC and the Philadelphia Museum of Art – is the first major exhibition in Canada in over 25 years of works by Van Gogh, and brings together dozens of the artist’s works from private and public collectors.
From canvas to tablet
Web and mobile enthusiasts are invited to create a still life on an iPad inspired by one of the artist’s bouquet and colour combinations. Visitors also have the opportunity to be a part of the exhibit by writing Letters to Vincent, excerpts of which will be featured as projections in the gallery space. Participants can receive a copy of their letter by email, and are encouraged to share their writings in social media.
