An informative article (in French only) was recently published in the spring 2012 issue of the Canadian Education Association’s quarterly publication. The article, “L’apport des musées dans l’enseignement des sciences” (French only) by Jean-François Gauvin, Ph.D., speaks highly of the educational programs offered in science museums and centres. It also asks important questions that warrant the attention of all Canadian museologists. Among others, it looks at the relationship between the visitor and the museum object, and the fact that fewer “real” objects are found in museums today, as they have been replaced by virtual objects or buttons to press.

A must-read article!
