In April of 1912 Bren Hennessy was employed as a cable operator in North Sydney, Nova Scotia.

There he transmitted to a shocked world the message that the largest and most modern passenger liner built had sunk on her maiden voyage. The supposedly "unsinkable Titanic" had struck an iceberg.
