WW - Wes[ley] Washington, interviewee / LR - Lyn Royce, interviewer
LR: Tell me the story that you wanted to make sure I knew about Cy Johnson [husband of Norval Johnson].
WW: Cy Johnson. I didn't...
LR: We didn't record it before.
WW: Okay, Cy Johnson. I knew Cy Johnson... Norval Johnson... I knew him when I was a kid. Norval Johnson was a good friend of my mother, Goldie Washington. Cy Johnson was the first black to work for Coca Cola, up on Main Street and Robinson Street. He mixed the syrup for the remedy, for Coca Cola. And when he died... The only time they closed that factory, was for Cy Johnson and I never forgot that.
LR: That's great.
LR: Great. Nice gesture of respect.
WW: Mhmm, yes.
LR: Very nice gesture of respect. We don't do that as much anymore, do we?
WW: No. No, no, no.
