Canada’s Got Treasures is an initiative of the Virtual Museum of Canada (VMC), which is administered by the Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN) at the Department of Canadian Heritage, and is featured in the VMC Lab. The VMC Lab explores new technologies with the Canadian museum community, and as an experimental online space may not be compliant with international accessibility and web standards.
As a federal initiative, users of this online space are subject to the conditions outlined by the Government of Canada. This online space makes use of social media and file sharing websites (e.g. Flickr, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook), and use of any of these sites is subject to the conditions set out in the Important Notices section of the Government of Canada website, as well as those of the websites themselves. By participating in Canada’s Got Treasures through any of these avenues, you have indicated your acceptance of these legally binding Terms of Use.

Neither your contributions nor your related profile on a social media and file sharing website may include or link to any content or information that is perceived by CHIN as being racist, defamatory, pornographic, offensive, obscene, lewd, excessively violent, harassing, sexually explicit, discriminatory or otherwise illegal or objectionable in nature. It cannot include passwords, viruses, spyware, malware, illegal software or warez or any hyperlinks to the same. If you become aware of misuse of the Website by any person, please contact us.
CHIN does not guarantee that the function of Canada’s Got Treasures will be uninterrupted or that the content is error-free. It is also the responsibility of the user to be certain that their computer is equipped with the proper security software and such as anti-virus to ensure protection against malwares, viruses or spywares that may be associated with third-party websites linked to on this website. Third party content and discussions featured as part of the Canada’s Got Treasures project has also not necessarily been verified by CHIN.
