Is there a treasure that you want to share with Canada? An object, photo, artwork or something that is special to you or to other Canadians? Does your town have a building or monument that captures the spirit of our country? Upload your photos or videos to the Canada’s Got Treasures YouTube Channel or Flickr Group and have your treasure featured in the Your Treasures section of our website.

Canadian museums or heritage institutions: Make sure to upload your photos or videos and let the country know what gems are in your collection!

Terms of Use

Step 1

  1. Login into the YouTube website.
  2. Upload your video(s) into your account.
  3. Fill the following categories of the Youtube Video Information section for your video(s)
    • Title
    • Description
    • Tags (Important Note: Museums and heritage institutions must include the tag “museum treasure” in order to be featured in the appropriate section of the website)
    • Date
    • Location (Important Note: All videos must have location information)

Step 2

  1. Go directly to the Canada’s Got Treasures! YouTube Channel.

Step 3

  1. In the profile details area of the Channel page beside the logo, click the link “Send Message”.

Once on the message page:

  1. Write “Video Submission” in the Subject line.
  2. Enter the subject of the video in the message body.
  3. Select your video from the drop-down menu located below the body of the message, and briefly describe your video and confirm your interest in having it added to the Canada’s Got Treasures! website.
  4. Click “Send”.
  5. If you have difficulty attaching your video, copy and paste the URL into the body of your message.

After Uploading

Once approved by our team, your video will be published in the Canada’s Got Treasures! Channel and Website.

Step 1

  1. Login into the Flickr website.
  2. Upload your photo(s) into your account.
  3. Fill the following categories of the Flickr Batch Organize section for your photo(s)
    • Title
    • Description
    • Tags (Important Note: Museums and heritage institutions must include the tag “museum treasure” in order to be featured in the appropriate section of the website)
    • Dates
    • Location (Important Note: All photos must have location information)

Step 2

Go directly to Canada’s Got Treasures Group and click on Join.

  1. In the Group Pool section of Canada’s Got Treasures group, click the link “Add Something”
  2. Select the photos from your photostream that you wish to add
  3. Click “Add to the group”

After Uploading

Once approved by our team, your photo(s) will be published in the Canada’s Got Treasures Group, and also Website.
