Upload Your Treasures!
Using popular social media such as YouTube and Flickr, Canada’s Got Treasures invites Canadians and heritage institutions to upload their own photos and videos for Canada and the world to experience and enjoy. Follow us on Virtual Museum of Canada Facebook and Twitter and join the conversation about objects, buildings, locations, or items that are important to you, to your museums and heritage institutions, and to other Canadians.
The Result of a Strong Partnership
Canada’s Got Treasures, a project developed for the Experimental Lab in the Virtual Museum of Canada, is the result of a strong partnership between virtualmuseum.ca and national heritage institutions such as the Canadian Museum of Civilization, the Canadian War Museum, the National Gallery of Canada, Canada Science and Technology Museum, Canada Aviation and Space Museum, Canada Agriculture Museum, and the Canadian Museum of Nature, as well as the National Capital Commission, Library and Archives Canada, and Concordia University Department of Art History.
The VMC Lab houses experimental projects that test the applicability of leading-edge technologies to museums. Best practices reports on these projects are shared with museums professionals on Canadian Heritage Information Network’s (CHIN) Professional Exchange website (pro.rcip-chin.gc.ca).
