The Orwell Corner Pioneer
Settlement opened to the public in July of 1973. It is currently owned
by the province of Prince Edward Island and administered by the PEI
Museum and Heritage Foundation. The historic village is located just
off the Trans-Canada Highway, midway between Charlottetown and Wood
Islands. The pioneer exhibit is comprised of a shingle mill, a blacksmith
shop, a school, a church, and a farm, as well as a store and a community
hall. For those interested, many special event days are held throughout
the year and provide some unique entertainment set in a time gone by. |
