A mobile, site-responsive project presented in Montreal and Toronto that allowed taxi passengers to experience geo-specific artworks on a touch screen installed in the back of a cab. As the car moves through the city, the computer, which is attached to an onboard GPS receiver, triggers location-specific media artworks to appear on the screen. The Teletaxi experience not only connects passengers to the spaces they pass through, it also transforms the anonymous space of the cab. While we normally understand the cab's route as lines on a map, Teletaxi thrusts a new layer of local experience on that vague and impersonal line between A and B.
