Turner to Chaos
Wedge Mountain, taller than nearby Mount Garibaldi, had yet to be climbed in 1923. Neal Carter and Charles Townsend determined to be the first to the top. During the same expedition, they also named and climbed nearby Mount James Turner. The clear air allowed for some magnificent photographs, including this shot from the top of Mount James Turner looking down to a glacier which they named “The Chaos.”
