DESCRIPTION: Medium-sized moth (wingspan: 3.5-5 cm) with a metallic blue body, orangish head and dark olive-brown wings partly bordered with white.

LIFE CYCLE: One generation a year.

ACTIVE PERIOD: The adults are active from June to early August and the caterpillars from May to June.

ABUNDANCE: Very common in Québec in early summer.

HABITAT AND DISTRIBUTION: Wet meadows. Canada and the northeastern United States.
