Fording across the Kootenay River to get large equipment to the Kinnaird Bridge site. The Doukhobor bridge that crossed the Kootenay River was the only bridge that accessed the area on the south bank of the Columbia River, so the Brilliant Dam flow was reduced to 4000 cfs to allow the equipment to cross the river and save the old bridge from possible demolition. April 1965.
