The Silvery Slocan, located in the midst of the Selkirk Mountains with rugged snowcapped peaks, steep valleys creating rushing streams creates a landscape that would capture any adventures heart. It is known for its rich and storied mining history with the settlements of Silverton, New Denver and Sandon – a ghost town that is home to one of the oldest operating power plants in the area. The Silversmith utilizes the steep terrain and the flowing creeks to produce enough power for the few inhabitants of Sandon and continues to provide extra for the electrical grid outside the narrow valley that contains Carpenter Creek.
