The foregoing is an epitome of the most important news received in letters brought Saturday by Constable Forrest, the intrepid musher, who got in in company with Indian Sam with the mail from police posts and the imprisoned whalers at Herschel Island. Herschel Island is 260 miles beyond Fort MacPherson. Captain Howard and men met the Dawson patrol at Fort MacPherson with Herschel mail.
