The boundary between Alaska and Yukon may be a long one, but the camaraderie between the two communities is also great and is shared by each police force. The State Troopers of Alaska and the Mounties of the Yukon have more in common than their enforcement duties; they share the same geographical challenges and the same need for ingenuity in their police work. Their reliance on instinct and their use of resourcefulness garners a mutual respect and creates an atmosphere of cooperation between the two forces, and thus between the two countries.
