Field Trip Guide

Should teachers wish to take their students on a field trip to Fort Selkirk, the following list of activities may interest them. It is an itinerary for a 3 day - 2 night stay with activities scheduled around meal times. The general schedule follows a pattern of an activity, journal writing time and then a meal. Journal writing has been emphasized in this itinerary as students are visiting a real-life museum, or a ghost town of sorts, and should have a chance to think about and discuss the different aspects of culture and history that are presented to them. The journal also serves as an excellent evaluation tool for teachers and parents alike. This itinerary is only a suggestion of what teachers and students may want to do while at Fort Selkirk, and teachers should feel free to plan their own trips with their individual agendas.
