Activity Bank - Plea for plant preservation

Materials:

Poster paper, various colours
Scissors
Tape and glue
Pencils
Colouring materials of different media such as crayons, marker, paints or pencil crayons

Time:

Twenty minutes to one hour depending on interest and attitude of students

Procedure:

Discuss the importance of preserving plant species on earth, for the benefit of both humans and other species.

Ask students to design a poster that advocates the need to save plant species. Posters can have a particular theme or cause, or could carry a general message. Encourage students to use descriptive words or captions in their posters, and of course catch the viewer's eye with the use of colour or intricate design.

Display the artwork in the class or in a hallway so that other students may have a chance to admire their work and learn a little about species preservation.
