Which Shoes to Wear?

Even women in isolated areas would have had several pairs of shoes to wear in different circumstances. Moccasins were informal and practical. Plain, respectable leather and fabric shoes served for most other purposes such as visiting the town or receiving neighbours. Fancy silk dress shoes would have been chosen when attending a party or a social occasion.
