In Nova Scotia the best time of year to look is April through
October. Many fungi are seasonal, so you can expect to find
different species in the same habitat at different times of
year. But other conditionshumidity, temperature, rainfall,
and locationalso affect which species appear. Part of
the fun of fungus hunting is that you never quite know what
you'll find. Fallwhen so much dead plant matter is availableis
a boom time for moulds. |
