The largest of the camps was Tashme, near Hope, B.C. A senior baseball league was formed there. Former Asahi ace pitcher Naggie Nishihara came to Tashme when the camp in Kaslo was closing. He coached the Yamato team to the championship in 1945, the last year of the war.
