Baseball in the Camps
Out came the balls and gloves
Veteran Asahi players formed teams and inspired youngsters to play ball games, rallying the camp communities after a bleak and difficult winter. “Even then, you know,” one recollected, “you’ve got to have a baseball team, no matter where you go in the Japanese community.”
