Stalag VIII B

Hello dear – I am still keeping the old chin up. Hope that you are all well. The boys here are all cheerful. We are all waiting for that day of news from home. Are you being kept informed of our whereabouts by the Canadian Govt [government]? also I hope that your money allowance is still continuing. Well dear, carry on with things until I return. Keep smiling inspite of everything. I don’t know how long these letters take to reach you, but hope it isn’t too long. Do trust that your health is good dear for I realize just what a terrible strain you must be under these days. So don’t worry darling - your husband is planning and thinking of the days of our reunion. We certainly will appreciate life then. I shall soon be home and then all our troubles will be over.

I do miss all your lovely long nice letters however dear ever day is a day nearer to the end of this war. My love to Mother, & Elsie. I wish you all the best for Xmas. Don’t let my being a P.O.W. [prisoner of war] upset your carrying on. Afterall I am very lucky to go through all this. Bye-Bye darling. Best all our friends in Canada.

Fondest Love

Your Own - Jack
