Advantages and Disadvantages

Based on the Sacred Runs that have been held in recent years, some think that there should be more while others believe that limits are required before they are allowed in their community. Like many things in life, a Sacred Run has both advantages and disadvantages, and it is the disadvantages that have caused debate. In some instances, a Sacred Run can have beneficial side-effects, such as road repairs which make it easier for the runners to run. Another benefit is the publicity that a Sacred Run gives communities, often resulting in an arrival of tourists who wish to be close to the runners or to watch part of the run. Motels, hotels, restaurants and service stations benefit from Sacred Runs and the profits are considerable.
