Introduction

Welcome to the learning object collection, Aliens in the Classroom. This learning object collection is also part of the Aliens Among Us website.

Each of the five learning objects consists of an interactive map, images, video and classroom activities about introduced plant and animal species in British Columbia. The learning object collection is linked to grades 4, 7, 10, 11 and 12 curricula, but can be adapted to grades beyond this range. Students can interact with the learning objects on their own, or teachers can project the site onto a screen and explore the resource together as a class.

Aliens in the Classroom learning object collection has been designed as a stand-alone resource, but can also be used as pre- or post-visit activities for a class field trip to the travelling museum exhibition called Aliens Among Us. This travelling exhibition has been created by the Royal BC Museum and will be touring across British Columbia during 2011 and 2012. For information about the travelling exhibition schedule visit:
