McCord and District Museum

A 1928 CPR station building,a 1913 historic Holiness Movement Church,and a 1970's CPR caboose.Pioneer and church artifacts,pictures,books, and small tools.Items from local businesses.

About the Collections

pioneer household items,quilts,furniture , CPR artifacts,small farm and ranch tools, horse and cattle gear,store equipment,telephone switchboard,church items,many books- old school books,novels,some archival items,photographs,postcards.Artifacts are mainly from the 1920's and 30's though there are a few much older and some much newer that represent the human history of our area.

This is a small some what remote community in the Grasslands National Park area. Groceries, coffee , and gas are available from McCord Co-op and McCord Lucky Dollar Store that are extremely close to the museum. They are open Monday to Saturday.

Local history book "From Prairie Grass to Wheat Fields"- the history of McCord and District for the last 100 years .Published 2001 by Friesens,Altona,Manitoba A few other local history books as well.
