Nestled between world famous Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains the Whistler Museum reflects the history of the early settlers and visitors to the Alta Lake area. It depicts the story of the men and women who were drawn to this harsh land by the dream of gold, the promise of land and the tranquility of the outdoors.

About the Collections

The Whistler Museum and Archives portrays the people of Alta Lake and Whistler. Experience and explore the early pioneering spirit of Whistler through artifacts, photographs and stories from our community.

Documentary history of the Alta Lake area and Whistler including the fonds of; the Rainbow Lodge, Rainbow Lumber Company, Garibaldi Olympic Development Assn., Garibaldi Lifts Limited, Resort Municipality of Whistler, and the Question newspaper photographs.
