Dufferin County Museum and Archives
Tourism Region: Headwaters Country
Located at the corner of Highway No. 89 and Airport Road, between Shelburne and Alliston, the D.C.M.A. is an architecturally unique community museum. Built in the style of an Ontario bank barn, complete with a silo, the museum focuses on the history of Dufferin County. The DCMA features historic buildings, located inside a spacious main gallery, as well as 3 additional floors of exhibits with changing art shows in the silo gallery. The staffed archives feature genealogical resources and a wide range of historical material available for researchers' use.

The DCMA's growing collection features objects made and used in this community by Dufferin residents, from pre-history to the present. The collection includes archival documents, photographs, fine art, textiles, and artifacts.

The archives collection includes archival documents pertaining to the history of the Dufferin County community, as well as thousands of photographs, hundreds of published and unpublished works of local historical interest. The collection also encompasses resources on Canadian antiques, genealogy, gardening, agriculture, furniture, and maps.
