About the Collections

Permanent Exhibition

The story of human conflict is as old as time and this story is powerfully brought to life in the Canadian War Museum. The permanent exhibition chronologically explores Canadian military activities from earliest times to current operations. As visitors journey across the centuries and around the globe, they meet the men and women who have contributed to the development of Canada's social and political fabric – in war, in peace and on the home front.

The history of honouring Canadians is documented in the Royal Canadian Legion Hall of Honour, which explores individual acts of remembrance and traditions of public observance.

Approximate number of objects in the collections: 500,000
