Comox Air Force Museum
Tourism Region: Comox Valley-Vancouver Island
The museum contains a history of Canadian military aviation, both nationally and locally, in its evolution from the Royal Flying Corps to Air Command of the Canadian Forces. The Museum focuses on the heritage of 19 Wing Comox and its resident squadrons, as well as West Coast Air Force aviation.
About the Collections
The museum contains a history of Canadian military aviation, both nationally and locally, in its evolution from the Royal Flying Corps to Air Command of the Canadian Forces. The short-lived years of the Canadian Air Force (1918-1924) and the glory years of the Royal Canadian Air Force (1924-1968) are also chronicled. On display are uniforms, log books, aircraft seats, models, First World War flying jackets and a myriad of other historical artifacts, some of significant value.
Exhibits reflect the heritage, traditions and progress of Canadian Forces Base Comox; periodically highlights moments in RCAF history and West coast aviation in the feature gallery
Also, the museum includes an extensive reference library, including unique photos and an broad collection of peridodicals.
