Smiths Falls Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario
Tourism Region: Lanark
The Museum celebrates the history of railways in Eastern Ontario. The cornerstone of the Museum is the 1912 station built for the Canadian Northern Railway which has been completely restored to its original condition. Visitors can get up close to a full-size 4-6-0 steam locomotive, an S-4 diesel locomotive, walk through a number of old cabooses, take a close look at box cars, passenger cars, and a variety of inspection cars. You can even visit the dentist in the Museum's dental car - a car which served the children of Northern Ontario for over 50 years.
