Dickson Store Museum

General Store built in 1909 and restored to the 1930's. Everything necessary for homestead life fills the shelves. The upstairs is the restored living quarters. Also on site with it's unique design is the restored lumber shed.

About the Collections

Groceries, dry goods, hardware which would have been available in a country general store c.1932; some post office artifacts; interpretive centre includes pictures, artifacts and archives; upstairs has a kitchen, pantry, living room, dining room, bedroom - typical of a 1930s home.

Services & Activities

Learning experiences for school groups; bus tours (by appointment); interpreters welcome visitors; Dickson Harvest Festival in October; Scandinavian Julestue in November

Educational Programs

The Dickson Store Museum education program identifies the importance of the pioneer era, and the impact pioneers had on building the community. Costume interpreters will present interactive and fun learning experiences. The staff will streamline any program to meet the needs of the group.

Operations: Seasonal

Tours (group or educational) May long weekend to end of August. Special events.

Open: 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday - Saturday; 12:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Sunday

Open daily (seasonal -Mid-May til Labour Day Weekend--weekends only in September)
